About this item

3M™ Cubitron™ II Cloth Belt 997F was designed to tackle your toughest, high-pressure applications on metals like stainless steel, cobalt chrome and nickel alloys.

Cut Fast with 3M Precision Shaped Grain
Our 3M™ Cubitron™ II Cloth Belt 997F has all of the unique benefits that operators appreciate about our Cubitron™ II abrasives, including fast cut rate, long service life, less heat stress and 3M Precision-Shaped Grain. The triangular-shaped 3M Precision-Shaped Grain – a revolutionary advancement in abrasive technology – slices through the substrate and results in a cloth belt that lasts up to 2x as long as conventional abrasives. ZF-weight backing on Cloth Belt 997F sets it apart.

Weighted Backing for High-Pressure Applications
ZF-weight backings are less flexible than other backings but heavier. Consequently, the weightiness of the backing enhances the abrasive’s durability. We chose a ZF-weight backing for this abrasive, so it would be able to withstand high-pressure grinding applications. It is especially suited for heavy-duty stock removal on stainless steel, cobalt chrome and nickel alloys. It also features a grinding aid, which is an added coating that helps the abrasive run cooler against the workpiece.

Ideal for Robotic Grinding and Degating
In medium and high-pressure applications like robotic grinding, it's important to choose a premium abrasive belt like the fast-cutting, long-lasting 3M™ Cubitron™ II Cloth Belt 997F. The mineral in the belt continually fractures into sharp edges to keep cutting through the life of the belt, reducing changeouts and downtime in robotic cells. This helps maximize the efficiency of the cell, allowing you to produce more parts per belt.

Do More in Less Time
Cubitron™ II Cloth Belt 997F has 3M™ Abrasive Grain, our proprietary mineral. This mineral is chemically engineered with a unique “stay sharp” crystalline structure that continually reveals fresh cutting edges on the surface of the workpiece. It ensures an exceptionally fast and sustained cut. Formed through a proprietary process to enhance toughness and hardness of the grain, 3M Precision-Shaped Grain abrasives offer a longer service life than non-ceramic abrasives. Our products enable operators to do more work in less time for significant gains in productivity.
